Why and How we travel

We travel primarily for business purposes, so it is not all fun and games. We go where we are needed, and look for opportunities to enjoy ourselves along the way. We always travel by car, and try to take the unbeaten path. Most often the Interstates are the best way to get where we are going, but when possible we take US and State Highways. We kinda think you cannot see how this country REALLY lives if all you do is travel one interstate highway to the next. Ever notice how it all looks pretty much the same from exit to exit? Gets old fast and you learn virtually nothing about this country.
Between us we have extensive travel history. My precious mate has traveled the world, and has missed only two continents, Australia and Antarctica. He is allergic to cold, so Antarctica holds no interest for him, and Australia is a very long way. I was a travel agent for 15 years back in the day when travel was realtively safer and MUCH more fun. No body cavity searches, and 88 year old grandmothers were not strip searched because the metal plate in their hips set off the metal detector.
We truly enjoy life on the road. It can be fun, funny, frustrating, and informative. I hope to show you all of this with a sense of humor.

Welcome!

Welcome to Wandering Afar! Traveling, its Trials, Tribulations, and Triumphs are the main focus for this blog. I will also add in from time to time memories of stuff that might be fun - Set your expectaions VERY low and let's go!
